  • Fully equipped dermatosurgery/ laser theatre for procedures and diagnostic lab with all modern diagnostic modalities like Dermoscope etc.
  • Publications in International/ National indexed journals (up to 100 in last 5 years). The faculty has edited/ authored various books/ chapters.

  Major treatment initiatives

  • Newer and innovative treatment modalities given like biologicals- rituximab, secukinumab, adalimumab and tofacitinib.

  Recognition, awards and best practices            

  • Number of post graduate seats increased to 6 MD and 2 PG Diploma from 2023.
  • The Department hosted 13^th Annual National Conference of Contact and Occupational Dermatoses Forum of India (CODFICON 2023) on 2^nd & 3^rd September, 2023.

• Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah was awarded "S PremlathaAward"for best research project in Dermatology in DERMACON held in Bengaluru in January 2019.
• Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah was awarded IADVL Oration on Contact and Occupational Dermatoses:An experience from the Kashmir valley”at DERMACON 2018 held at Kochi in January 2018.
• Howard MaibachAward  2014 for award paper  presentation at the 25^th Annual Conference of the American Contact Dermatitis Society at Denver Colorado, USA on 20^th of March 2014 was awarded to Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah.
• Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah was awarded Oration for Diagnostic & therapeutic Challenges in skin tumors at CUTICON 2015 (41^st Annual conference of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists&Leprologists Punjab, Chandigarh & Himachal Pradesh Chapter held at Patiala, Punjab on 4^th Oct 2015.
• Professor K Sidappa Gold Medal, Certificate of Honour and a Cash Prize for original research paper at the 25^thAnnual  National Conference of Dermatologist, Venereologists and Leprologists held at Guwahati in 1997awarded to Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah.
• Young Scientists’ Award for the Year 2000awarded to Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah by the J&K State Council of Science & Technology.
• Literary Award for the year 2013,awarded to Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah for her outstanding contribution in the field of dermatology & authoring a book entitled “ Clinical Synopsis &Colour Atlas of Skin Tumors.”

• Prof ( Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah was awarded IADVL – L’ÓREAL Indian Hair & Skin Research Grant2015 for the study entitled“Association of Vitamin D receptor gene polymorphisms and serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D Levelsin patients with vitiligo.”
